Foundation stone laid on Niederrhein University of Applied Science campus
Today the foundation stone of the new Textile Academy North Rhine-Westphalia was laid on the campus of Niederrhein University of Applied Science in Mönchengladbach in the presence of North Rhine-Westphalia Minister of the Economy Garrelt Duin, Mayor of Mönchengladbach Hans Wilhelm Reiners, Prof. Dr. Hans-Hennig von Grünberg, Chancellor of Niederrhein University of Applied Science, and Rolf A. Königs and Dr. Wilfried Holtgrave, respectively Chairman and President of the North-West German Textile and Clothing Industry Association.
Designed by sop architekten and scheduled to open in 2018, the building will provide the Academy with a presence on the university campus and a public showcase for the many and varied uses of textiles thanks to its shimmering silver textile façade, visible from afar.
