Starting Signal for a New Residential District at Bochum's Ostpark
A mix of privately owned apartments, rental units, and subsidized housing is currently being developed in Bochum’s Ostpark. This represents the city’s largest residential development project, surrounded by expansive green spaces. In the Feldmark district, which is part of the overall project, the starting signal was given last Friday with the groundbreaking ceremony for two urban villas being developed by bpd Immobilienentwicklung, based on designs by sop architekten.
The two buildings, comprising 13 and 10 apartments respectively, feature varied façade designs using different materials and green sections. While distinct in appearance, they form a cohesive ensemble through recurring architectural elements that allow them to blend harmoniously into the surrounding neighborhood.
Photovoltaic systems, green façades and roofs, as well as an open rainwater drainage system along the gardens contribute to the project’s sustainability. The outdoor areas offer a high quality of stay and create diverse opportunities for vibrant neighborhood life.
