Preparatory works for the first building component of the New Administrative Buildings RheydtIn Mönchengladbach, construction work has begun on the first phase of the New Administrative Buildings Rheydt.
The climate-neutral timber hybrid building will incorporate the historic town hall and the former Royal District Command on Rheydt Market Square as defining address elements and will extend as far as Stresemannstraße at the rear. At the site where a new children daycare center will be built in the future, the first partial demolition has now been completed. This will allow the remaining demolition work to be carried out largely from the inner courtyard, in order to reduce disruption in the surrounding street area.
Building Component A of the New Administrative Buildings Rheydt will provide space for up to 600 workplaces and has been further developed in close coordination with the City of Mönchengladbach, after the international competition entry was halted in 2023.
