Borussia ‘8 Grad’ opens its doors

Today saw the grand opening of the new building at Borussia Park in the presence of German Football Association President Reinhard Grindel, Borussia Mönchengladbach President Rolf Königs and Mayor of Mönchengladbach Hans Wilhelm Reiners. The building owes its name, which means ‘8 Degrees’, to its slanting outline, a reference to the Borussia rhomb, the club’s logo.
Covering some 15,000m² and directly adjoining the existing stadium, the building – which features a five-storey bar projecting 7 metres beyond its footprint to north and south – houses a 131-room H4 hotel with wellness and conference centre, the club’s new museum, a fan shop, a sports rehabilitation and fitness centre complete with treatment rooms and the Club’s administrative offices.
