Neue Messe Süd receives prestigious award from BDA Düsseldorf

Neue Messe Süd has been awarded the prestigious Düsseldorf Architecture Prize by the BDA, which is presented every three years to buildings of outstanding quality.
Jurek M. Slapa, managing partner of sop architekten, and Jörg Bredenbröcker, project leading associate, accepted the award together with Clemens Hauser, Executive Director Technical Operations Messe Düsseldorf, at the award ceremony in the Düsseldorf Stadtmuseum.
The new South Entrance of Messe Düsseldorf consists of an approximately 7,800m² translucent canopy that creates a new and inviting opening towards the city. Situated between the Rhine and the Nordpark, the south entrance is visible from the water and comprises of several areas, from the trade fair forecourt to the transparent south entrance and the multi-functional, column-free exhibition hall.
The new Messe Süd building also incorporates architectural elements from the neighbouring congress centre and creates a new architectural space adjacent to the park.
