Textile Academy receives award for exemplary buildings 2020
The Textile Academy NRW in the city of Mönchengladbach in Germany is one of 30 buildings to receive the "Exemplary Buildings 2020"-Award from the Interior Ministry of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the local Chamber of Architects. The jury made its selection because “the use of the building as a central facility for vocational training in the textile and clothing industries is clearly depicted by the outer façade made of fabric. In addition to that the building has a spacious foyer, auditorium and classrooms that demonstrate special appreciation for students".
A total of more than 270 buildings were submitted for the award, which is carried out every five years. The award ceremony will take place on November 16, 2020 in Düsseldorf’s Ständehaus K21.
