Timber Port in Düsseldorf’s Media Harbour set to take off
UBM Development and sop architekten have now received the building permit for their resource-efficient and climate-friendly timber-hybrid new build, Timber Port, located in Düsseldorf’s Media Harbour district. The sustainable low-energy building on Holzstraße is planned as an eight-storey structure, in which the timber construction is braced with steel and concrete only at a few points. It will offer flexibly designed office spaces with an inviting foyer and landscaped outdoor areas, as well as restaurant and commercial units on the ground floor. Inside, a high level of daylight, natural timber surfaces, and a material selection inspired by circular design principles create a pleasant working atmosphere.
