Messe Düsseldorf is planning to renovate its northern entrance area, which is located right next to the “Arena/Messe Nord” subway station.
The old Hall 7 will be replaced by a larger, column-free hall featuring modern and flexible exhibition and conference spaces. This construction project will also create a new, iconic, and forward-looking entrance for visitors and exhibitors to the entire northern exhibition grounds, featuring a direct connection to the transit stop, a spacious main thoroughfare, and an adjoining, transparent skywalk leading to the exhibition grounds.
In front of the new hall, a transparent entrance foyer approximately 200 meters long is being constructed; it runs parallel to the subway station platforms and offers arriving visitors a glimpse of the trade show activities even from a distance. With its large-format glass facades, the approximately 12-meter-high entrance area—which conveys a sense of lightness—stands out from the surrounding exhibition halls in an open and inviting way.
Guests arriving by subway are guided via a transparent pedestrian bridge directly into the new, light-filled central corridor, which stretches like an atrium between Halls 7 and 9 and opens up to the upper level via a large open staircase.
The entire renovation is expected to take place while the trade show is in session, starting in 2029.
