New KVBW headquarter building complete
A formal opening ceremony held in Karlsruhe’s Oststadt today saw the inauguration of the new headquarter building for the KVBW Pension Fund (Kommunaler Versorgungsverband Baden-Württemberg). Accommodating flexible, modular office space and numerous attractive break-out areas, the office block provides space for some 840 workstations. A vast cube with a distinctive, transparent foyer area and landscaped interior courtyard, it is divided up by means of a few, judiciously placed recesses, while varying building heights offer a fitting response to the surrounding urban environment. The project was the winner of a 2014 Europe-wide design competition.
